To be honest, I don’t really have much of an online identityprofessional or otherwise. I do have a Facebook page, but that was somethingthat my friends pretty much made for me. I didn’t even really use it till thisyear and that’s only because I need it for my job. And of course, I have myrecently created twitter page for class. My lack of online activity has more todo with me being a little lazy and less to do with me having some kind ofproblem with social networks. I guess that’s a good thing since that means thatthere isn’t anything embarrassing or damaging about me online. But as far ashaving an online professional identity goes I need to put in some work. I knowthat a lot of professionals use twitter or Facebook as professional tools fortheir workplace. They take the time to edit and present the right kind ofinformation (that shows them in a positive light). Really, it’s all about taking the time to sitdown and do it.

Comment: Good start to your reflection on your status, Josh. So, what will you want folks to find in 10 years of accumulated professional identity information about you, then? I hope our seminar has given you ideas for how you can begin the process now rather than later, and I hope you see your EP as an important step in that process. Best, Dr. Y
